Bill Williams AC
The acceleration indicator (AC) was developed by Bill Williams to help traders identify market momentum changes. The Accelerator Oscillator indicator is the difference between the Awesome Oscillator indicator (AO) and the 5-period moving average of the indicator itself, which shows effectively how fast the AO changes and predicts what happens next. If the AC is in the positive zone, it means that, most likely, the accelerated upward movement will continue. If the AC is in the negative zone, a downward acceleration will take place. The bars on the histogram have two colors: red, which indicates a price fall, and green, which indicates a price increase. A wide variety of buy and sell signals can be received from the bars’ color, depending on whether they are above or below the zero line.
