Drawing Objects

The ATAS platform has the function of adding various graphical objects on a chart.

To view and to select available drawing objects:

  • Click on the icon in the chart bar menu.
  • Use hot keys.

* By default, hotkey settings have been already set in the platform, but you can change them if necessary. More information about this is available here.

Next, a window that displays all the available elements will open.

Description of drawing objects functions.

* The functions described below are applicable to all the elements of drawing objects.


Delete Selected - remove only the selected drawing objects in the chart.

Delete All - remove all the drawing objects in the chart.

Select All - select all the drawing objects in the chart.

Copy All - copy all the drawing objects in the chart.

Copy Selected - copy only the selected drawing objects in the chart.

Paste - past only the copied objects in the chart.

Undo - undo the last action.

Editing the elements of drawing objects - to edit the desired element of drawing objects requires, it must be selected by left-clicking once on the selected element. After that, it will be possible to increase/decrease and move the element to any area of the chart and to open visual configuration of the element by right-clicking the mouse.


* Most of the visual settings such as color, style, width, and display of the object behind the chart are the same for all the elements; therefore, the descriptions of visual settings for the elements contain only description of the settings that this particular element has.


Saving the visual settings:


To save the default settings, use the Save As Default button.

To return to the default settings, use the Reset button.

To remove an element, use the Remove button.

To apply the settings click the OK button.

Global Horizontal Line

This drawing object is identical to the “Horizontal Line” in terms of settings and options, but it can be applied to several instruments at the same time.

Trend Line

It is used to mark the trend movements on the chart.

* Visual Settings.

Ray - this feature allows extending the trend line.

It is also possible to display lines in the form of arrows with the help of the following options:

  • EndLineAsArrow - the end of the line as an arrow;
  • StartLineAsArrow - the start of the line as an arrow.


Trend angle

A trend line showing the level of the trend slope.

To draw a trend line on the chart, you need to left-click once on the chart at the starting point, drag to the end point, then left-click again to complete the drawing.

Vertical Line

It is used to select certain sections of the chart.

To build the line, select the desired area of the chart and left-click. After that, a vertical line will appear on the chart.

Horizontal Line

It is used to indicate support and resistance levels.

It is possible to specify the price level for drawing the line in the visual settings of the horizontal line. You can also set an alert at any distance from the price that you need, i.e. when the price reaches this distance, you will get a sound notification.

In addition to the sound notification, a text notification of the event is also displayed in the Alerts window on the Open menu.

You can make a label above a specific line.

The "Use alert only when crossing" flag has been added, it is triggered at high volatility when the price jumps over the line.

Horizontal Ray

It is identical to the Horizontal line, but this ray has an end that you can adjust. To adjust the end of the ray, you need to select the drawing object, then long press the right mouse button on the end of the ray and increase or decrease it to the desired size.

Fibonacci

The sequence of Fibonacci numbers is very well combined with the levels of asset price correction in the markets after the growth and can also predict the possible price movement after the correction.

To build, select the desired area of the chart, left-click on it once, stretch to the desired mark, and left-click again (on the endpoint). The Fibonacci levels will appear on the chart.


* It is possible to adjust the levels and the display of values at these levels.

Percentage, % - this option configures the display of the level as a percentage.

Fibonacci Retracements

This object is an extended functionality of the Fibonacci object which allows you to first draw a trend line between two extreme points, then expand the Fibonacci which are divided vertically by horizontal lines placed at key levels with key Fibonacci ratios.

To build it, select the desired area on the chart, left-click on it once and stretch it to the desired mark, click again on the end point. After that, you also need to move the mouse to the desired level and stretch the Fibonacci on the chart.

Fibo Fan/ Веер

A drawing object that allows you to identify support/resistance levels and market expansion levels.


Ruler

This instrument allows measuring the distance traveled by the price, number of bars, time, volume, and delta for the selected interval on the chart.

To build it, left-click the initial point on the chart and click again in the endpoint. This will open an information window, which we can move to an appropriate location on the chart and left-click on it again to pin it.

Channel

It is used to highlight different areas on the chart.

Triangle

It is used to highlight different areas on the chart.

Rectangle

It is used to highlight different areas of the chart.

To build it, left-click on point 1 on the chart and drag the cursor to point 2 without releasing the mouse button; then click again to complete the construction.

Highlight Y / Horizontal range

It is used to highlight different areas on the chart.

To build it, left-click at the starting point on the chart, then click again at the end point. After that, a selected area will appear on the chart.


Highlight X / Vertical range

It is used to highlight different areas on the chart.

Ellipse

It is used to highlight different areas of the chart.

Charts Markers

To build elements on the chart, you can use one of the following options:

-- Open menu on the chart panel, select the desired item in Chart Markers.

-- With the help of hot keys.

These elements have some common settings:

  1. Editing of each element begins with the selection, it is necessary to left-click once on an item.
  2. Each of the elements can be moved to any point on the chart.
  3. All the elements of the item icons have the same visual settings:
  • Color.
  • Size.


Text

To display text on the chart, use one of the options described above and then left-click in the desired area of the chart.

The settings window will appear, enter the text you need in the Text field and click OK.

Label

This element can be added to the chart and has the same settings as Text.


* The difference between a text and a label is that the text is attached to the chart, while the label is attached to a particular area on the chart, i.e. when you move the price, the text will move together with the chart, but the label will remain in place.

To insert an element, left-click in the required area of the chart, then the element will be displayed on the chart.

Dot/Diamond/Square/Up Arrow/Down Arrow

Long|Short position

*the settings for long and short positions are identical in terms of content and functionality.

These drawing objects allow you to estimate where the order will move in case of entering a long or short position. Also, the object displays profit and loss in PnL and evaluates the risks if the price reaches the desired level or the level closed by a stop loss.

Visualization

Profit color - the choice of color that will display the profitable zone on the drawing object.

Loss color - the choice of color that will display the unprofitable zone on the drawing object

Area Transparency - adjusting the background transparency of the drawing object.

Font - advanced font settings in the drawing object.

Font color - the choice of text color in the drawing object.

Settings

Account size - enter the size of the account from which the trade is made in this setting.

Risk - risk settings for calculation (entered as a percentage).

Open Price - allows you to manually enter the opening price.

Profit Target

Ticks - the calculation of a take profit in ticks.

Price - a take profit opening price.


Stop Loss

Ticks - the calculation of a stop loss in ticks.

Price - a stop loss opening price.

Behind the chart - when the checkbox is active, the drawing object is built without closing the bars.

This window allows you to see all the elements of the drawing objects applied to the chart. You can also manage them:

Select All.

Remove selection

Delete Selected.

Delete All.
